Assistant Collections Manager

We have an immediate opening for an Assistant Collections Manager.
Responsibilities:
- Supervises the daily activities of the Delinquency Control Center to ensure the timely and accurate completion of all assigned duties in accordance with policy and procedures.
- Assists in the design and development of all collection programs and related functions.
- Assists the Manager with personnel related matters including hiring, staffing, performance appraisals, training, counseling and termination.
- Monitors accounts and reviews reports, analyzing impact, providing statistical data and reporting results of delinquent loan analyses.
- Examines OCS, FDR and Mortgageserve systems activity, provides direction to Unit Supervisors and makes decisions on actions to be taken.
- Assists the Manager in monitoring the sale proceeds on repossessed /foreclosed collateral to ensure a fair and equitable price.
- Assists the Manager in compiling and presenting reports to Senior Management.
- Makes final collection attempt prior to charge-off when appropriate.
- Assists in the monthly review of loans recommended for charge-off to the Board with subordinates and operations sections; coordinating DCC's input into the monthly Board report.
- Monitors recovery on charged-off loans providing direction for collection agency assignment and review.
- Assists in the retention of all records related to charge-offs.
- Assists in workouts of real estate acquired through collection processes/foreclosures.
- Reviews federal, state and local regulations pertaining to debt collection and recommends changes to collection procedures.
Requirements:
- Baccalaureate degree in a related field or a combination of education and experience that provides the necessary skills and knowledge to satisfactorily perform the essential job functions.
- Four years’ progressively responsible collection experience, including credit cards, installment loans, and real estate products required.
- Real Estate secured loan workout experience preferred.
- Two years' supervisory experience required.
- Thorough knowledge of debt collection laws and regulations on Federal, state and local levels required.
- Strong oral and written communication skills required.
- Lending experience preferred.
You do not need a security clearance but you must pass a credit and criminal background check.
