Cabela's, the World's Foremost Outfitter of hunting and fishing gear, is looking for a Custom's Compliance Specialist in the Import Division of our Logistics Department.
Cabela's Customs & Trade Compliance departments primary function is to provide corporate wide leadership and direction for the development, administration and enforcement of policies and procedures related to Cabela's Customs and Trade Compliance programs. The Customs Compliance Specialists primary responsibility is to facilitate, analyze, and assess Cabela's compliance with US Customs laws and regulations, particularly related to the entry of goods into the US Commerce.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
- Audit all pre-entry aspects of Cabela's import compliance program. Proactively provide guidance to internal departments to ensure timely and compliant importation of goods. Work directly with Customs Brokers to resolve day-to-day issues that result in import delays.
- Correspond with foreign vendors to resolve entry discrepancies and get corrects for compliance and duty purposes.
- Audit Customs entry summaries and related commercial and financial records for accuracy and compliance with Customs rules and regulations. Work directly with Customs Broker to resolve entries that need to be re-submitted to US Customs.
- Prepare import files to ensure that all required documents are present for record keeping purposes.
- Prepare ACH statements for payment of duties and taxes to Customs for all imported merchandise.
- Review liquidation notices and report discrepancies to Supervisor.
- Work with Merchandising department and suppliers upfront to determine tariff classification, proper valuation, and country of origin determination. Inaccurate documentation may result in significant financial penalties for the company.
- Maintain current industry knowledge by reading trade publications and analyze potential impact on Cabela's.
- Attend seminars to expand knowledge and find best practices within the trade community.
- Performs other related duties as assigned by management.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
- Possess High School Education.
- Demonstrated knowledge of international transactions.
