Responsibilities:
Assist in the preparation and analysis of client accounting records; preparation of financial statements, various other client reporting, cash management, payroll and/or financial recording needs. Includes cash receipts and disbursement recording, periodic payroll processing and period-end reporting, client interaction, financial statement preparation, reconciliation of bank and other accounts with General ledger and related subsidiary ledgers, maintenance of depreciation schedules, data entry, maintenance and communication with client as related to tasks and functions, use of various software packages in performing the above mentioned tasks. Basic knowledge of income tax return preparation for businesses and individuals is desirable. The position seeks a professional who is efficient and effective in a multi-tasking environment, has an interest in technology and its use in facilitating job functions and has a desire to learn and remain current with accounting, payroll, and technology related issues.
Requirements:
- Prior experience in Accounting/Bookkeeping required
- Prior experience in a CPA firm environment preferred
- Associates degree in Accounting
- Basic knowledge level of business and individual income tax return preparation
- Exceptional attention to detail with perspective
- Experience with Microsoft Office suite products (emphasis in Excel and Word)
- Prior experience with computer based accounting software including Quickbooks
- Must be a self-starter and work in a team atmosphere
- Ability to multi-task and effectively prioritize in a highly dynamic environment
- Ability to work independently
- Good communication skills, both verbally and in writing
- Outgoing personality and enjoys working/helping people and customers
- Candidates must have stable job history and a demonstrated knowledge of accounting
