The incumbent will lead the Special Accounts Team managing high-risk loan portfolios with emphasis on the reduction of non-earning assets or those in litigation. Work in a team environment to accomplish goals. Serve the Association's internal and external customers by providing timely service incorporating sound decisions on legal strategy, loan structure, terms and conditions, pricing and documentation. Provide counseling to Credit Teams, Credit Analysts, Agribusiness Finance (ABF) Team and Retail Financial Officers on loan structure, terms and conditions, pricing and documentation for loans with significant credit weakness or high risk.

EMPLOYEES SUPERVISED:
Incumbent will lead direct reports distributed across the four state region consisting of Special Accounts Officers and Special Account Specialists.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Essential functions of the position include, but are not limited to:
1. Provide team leadership to inspire Association vision, consistent with core values and team principles. Instill a participative work team environment and develop the team and individuals. Develop team members through coaching, training, as well as ongoing performance feedback.
2. Lead the Special Accounts team in serving internal and external customers by processing loan requests and loan servicing requests, as well as managing high-risk loan portfolios with emphasis on the reduction of high risk and/or non-earning assets in accordance with Association policies and procedures resulting in the greatest net return/best business decision. Primary responsibility is reduction of high risk and non-earning assets through restructuring, borrower counseling and/or collection.
3. Provide leadership to team members in managing loans in bankruptcy and litigation. Manage internal and external legal counsel relationships utilized in settlement of loans in bankruptcy or litigation.
4. Responsible for management of acquired property portfolio resulting in the greatest net return for the Association.
5. Monitor and report on assigned portfolio, including credit classification changes, accrual/stop accrual analysis for loans in the assigned portfolio. Assist and supervise team members in resolving assigned loans in litigation and makes recommendations on loans exceeding authority.
6. Ensure Farm Credit Services of America is within compliance of settlement laws and procedures, including Farm Credit System borrower rights and regulations. Responsible for achieving satisfactory Association credit administration and credit quality goals for assigned portfolio.
7. Develop and maintain reports for monitoring team performance, including designing advanced efficiency and collection cost reporting for large commercial loans, producer portfolios, and term loan portfolios. Monitor loan performance on assigned portfolio. Provide timely, efficient service to all internal and external customers. Proactively communicate status and issues internally. Reporting also includes development and maintenance of detailed forecasting and business plan development and monitoring for the high risk assets portfolios and team.
8. Participate in the on-going design of Association processes and team structure to provide exceptional service and to improve efficiency and effectiveness.

JOB SPECIFICATIONS:
Bachelors degree in business, finance and/or economics, and a minimum of 10 years experience in lending/credit analysis experience with Farm Credit Services or a related agricultural credit organization. A minimum of five years of collection and litigation experience specific to agricultural or commercial accounts. Previous leadership experience preferred.
Duties require:

INTERNAL/EXTERNAL CONTACTS:
Extensive internal contact within ABF, credit division, regional office teams, retail offices and staff, Vice Presidents-Business Development, and Vice Presidents-Credit Services. Regular contact with Omaha credit and legal team. Extensive external contact with customers, attorneys, accountants.
